The students in the Little Black Pearl Arts= Smarts program have created original art pieces and text inspired by the writings of Octavia Butler.  Ms. Butler’s writings are both traditional and non traditional science fiction: afrofuturistic with deep themes of social criticism.

The art is also inspired by the jazz suite being created by Chicago’s very own Nicole Mitchell.
